People

People tell us a lot about any situation.

Who's who, what information can they bring to the table -- how credible are they? What evidence can they provide?

The evidence in Quartzsite's case is very straightforward. Even a newcomer can pretty easily discern fact from fiction.

Note: This is not a Quartzsite Police squad car.
A Quartzsite employee was fired in July for photographing a Quartzsite police car with a blue ribbon on it.

The Quartzsite 10 is a group comprised of ten officers and a clerk within the Quartzsite Police Department. There are 14 people on the police department, including the Chief of Police. The ten individuals that comprise the Quartzsite 10 have requested an investigation of Chief Jeff Gilbert and have steadfastly stood by their criticisms of him, sending letters to various officials outlining the infractions they say have occurred -- and requesting that he be placed on administrative leave.

An AZCOPS.ORG official attended a Quartzsite Town Council meeting in June, 2011. He, too, indicated that Gilbert should be placed on administrative leave. I published this document in June, showing that the rules and regulations that apply to all police personnel also indicate that Chief Gilbert should be immediately placed on administrative leave.
